Ladies and gentlemen of the blogosphere, my birthday was yesterday! *plays party music in background* Happy birthday to me!! No, but seriously, I hate telling people it’s my birthday, so this is a big deal. At the same time, no one I know reads this blog, so I feel like I’m in the clear. I mean, I’m Charlotte Carmichael, an internet nobody! I get excited when I have one view of my page. I’m never going to be a Carrie Bradshaw, where people are waiting to read my next column. I’ve gotten used to the fact that I’m just another person writing my thoughts down. I’m just another millennial that feels unaccomplished and unhappy with my life, and feels the need to complain about my “problems”. But I digress.
A while ago I was looking at my previous posts, and I realized I’ve never actually said my age. I’ve always found a way around saying it. Why I did that, I have no idea! So guys and gals, I turned 26 years old yesterday. Phew, it feels so good to actually say it. But at the same time, I feel horrible saying how old I really am; I feel like I have too many “problems” for someone so young-ish, or that I care too much sometimes.
BUT ANYWAY! I’m 26 years old, and I see my birthday as my New Year’s celebration. So I make sort of resolutions. So what have I decided to do this year? I’m GLAD YOU ASKED! A few years ago, I said I wanted to stop wasting money, get an education, lose weight, etc. To be honest, all my goals are exactly the same. But one thing I also want to try is to be more social. I have a hard time keeping in touch with people, and I’ve recently been reconnecting with friends. I want to reconnect with people I haven’t spoken to in years. There’s no reason why I can’t keep friends for longer than a few months, or why I can’t be more than just Facebook friends. If I have to start traveling to make sure I see people, I might just do that. Plus, I get to cross things off my bucket list!!
My first stop is actually Washington, D.C.. As we speak, I am on a bus on the way to our beautiful national capital. I wanted to spend my birthday weekend away from the “beautiful” city I live in, and wanted to explore somewhere I hadn’t really been. There were some other ideas thrown in the ring, but my boss gave me this idea, and I never would’ve thought of it myself. So kudos to my boss!! And it just so happens, there are two wonderful young ladies that I met at a concert last year that live in Virginia, so it’s easy for me to see them. I can’t wait to spend time with them.
At the same time, I can’t wait to spend time exploring. I plan on exploring alone because unfortunately I did not have a special person to go with. There’s a guy that I’m kind of (actually super really) interested in, and while I had asked if he wanted to come with me, he was busy this weekend. So I’m going stag, and I’m not chasing him. But that’s a totally different blog post, one for a much later day.
Well readers of the blogosphere, I know this is a relatively short post, but I thought I would have more to say. I didn’t, but I know I should post more often, so here it is! Until next time - I’m Charlotte Carmichael, and thanks for reading! :-)

The Randomness That is My Life
Hello internet people. I am going to take the random
thoughts I typed within the last month or so. I apologize in advance that these
things do not completely work together, but it always ends up leading to the
same conclusion. I am alone in this world, and I want to change that so badly.
I think a lot, and sometimes when the timing is right, I write a lot. I have quite a few notebooks that have my thoughts written down. What sucks though is that once I write my thoughts down, I never want to think of them (so to speak. I never seem to forget anything). So it sucks having a blog and not having much to write.
This year is my (insert multiple of 5) year high school
reunion. It is coming up in one month exactly, and I have until the end of the
month to register. The great thing is that since the registration is online,
you can see who else is registered to go. So far there are 4 – count ‘em – 4
people from my year going! WHOA! But seriously, there is no one going. Which is
why I’m not sure if I want to go or not.
Here’s my problem. I haven’t kept in touch with anyone I
graduated with. I just happened to read my yearbook the other day, and the
things people wrote were so sweet. The people that said “Oh we should hang out
and meet up and blah blah blah,” I haven’t heard from them in years. I wish I
would have kept in touch, but I have this feeling all the time that if I
contact people, I’m bothering them. So I literally have one friend I went to
school with, and we only talk two or three times a year.
I keep checking the list of people coming. It seems like I’m
waiting to see someone’s name. Who, I’m not sure. But I know if I see that one
name, I’m going to go. If not, I can wait another 5 years.
I get these random feelings sometimes. Almost as if the
world is unbearable, and that if something would go right, I would feel better.
Most of the time, it feels like I’m super nervous about something, it becomes a
little hard to breathe and I get the butterfly feeling. And then as I try to
calm myself down, I get this sense of dread. I am going to be alone for the
rest of my life, and no matter what I do, my love life is going to be as dry
and lifeless as it is right now.
I think that is why I want to move out of the big city I live in. It’s a
huge city, with so many possibilities, and none of them are happening to me!
That’s it for this post. Until next time – I’m Charlotte Carmichael
and thanks for reading.

My (not so) First Blog Post
Hey everyone, Charlotte Carmichael here!
So this is the first of hopefully many blog posts! I’ve
already tried this before quite a few times, but I feel like I need some way of
talking about my problems. I end up writing random thoughts down in random notebooks
and little pieces of paper, so it’s nice to have some place to put everything
down.
I tried doing a YouTube channel, and I even put up 5 videos
of me talking. I’ll link my page on the side, so if you want to watch them you
can. I found making and editing the videos tedious and angering, plus a waste
of my time. No one watched them anyway, so there was no point of doing them.
I’m also going to link my Instagram and Twitter profiles, so
if you want, you can follow me on those sites too. I don’t post on either one
that often, but it’s a nice gesture.
Anyway, this blog will be a mix of my musings, hobbies,
dreams, and failures. I may post:
1)
pictures of my crochet projects
2)
my
complaints about work
3)
My weight loss progress (probably not a lot,
there are so many blogs with that out there, no one needs another one)
4)
My (non-existent) love life
5)
Probably many other things
I hope you will enjoy this blog, and if you’d like, you can
leave me whatever feedback. All I ask is that you do not post hurtful comments.
There’s a difference between being constructive and criticizing.
Well that’s all I have for today. I will leave you with this
question. What drives you to be successful in whatever you do?
Until next time … I’m Charlotte Carmichael and thanks for
reading!
